I've had over 25 cars... Drove another 100+ cars that I maintain(ed) for friends and family. Drove thousands of cars while working for body shops and car dealerships back in the day... Automatic, DCT, DSG, CVT, manual, etc.
BUT... I have never driven a car that can coast as far as this ugly nugget can. I think if I hit top speed on one side of Texas and let go off the gas pedal - it will keep coasting all the way to the other side of Texas.
With that in mind - it should get incredible gas mileage, right?!? Wrong...still 26MPG.
It has a very deceiving fuel gauge. It stays above "F" for about 120-150 miles, and then goes from "F" to "E" in about 120-150 miles. That illusion makes it feel more efficient than it is.
But, for some odd and unexplainable reason, I still like this little KIA Sephia.
It makes me wonder if when coasting the computer keeps feeding the engine some fuel, instead of cutting it completely like most EFI cars do. That would explain the incredibly loooong coasting times/distances, and such a low MPG for a 1.8L 4-banger.
