Our '18 Mazda CX-9 Turbo AWD:

21.3 average over 17,xxx miles tracked.

I've gotten around 30 on the highway at an all-time best and all time low was 15.9 during last winter lots of idling and intensely cold!

I didn't write down the exact numbers but I filled up my Accent yesterday. 107 miles and 2.6 gallons so a touch over 41mpg. Probably a 50/50 mix of city highway on this one due to some extra trips.

25.6 MPG calculated for my 2022 CX5 Mazda. 90% urban driving with AC on 100%.
The above is what I experienced in LA with a cx5 rental.

I know there is a direct proportion with avg mph and avg mpg. And my mph was around 28.

My commute 2010-2019 was like that and with my own cars, 21 with the bmw, 21.x with the 1998 Maxima, 19.x with the LS 430, and 16.x with my wife’s GM SUV.

But while my office got 11 miles closer, highway driving was eliminated altogether. So all of the above got clipped. I’d say by almost 3 mpg on all but the suv, which was less. It’s like a 14 mph avg.

My 2007 Grand Cherokee: 12.6 MPG in only driving around town, a SC Sea Island. I have said many times since I bought it used 13 years ago that it is a gas hog, but has cost me next to nothing in repairs (an alternator, a starter, and a radiator.) and it does what I need it to.

On previous intestate heavy trips, I have gotten in the low 20s MPG.
