Post apocalypse oil and filter choice MADMAX style

Id take anything i could trade for shotgun shells.

Also i hate to rain on the parade but that blower set up would never actually work...

My desert cruiser would be my 2008 3/4 ton CIA Suburban with a 6.0 using any 5w40 I could find in the looted Walmarts. Currently I run Pennzoil Euro 5W40. Filter would be any type of Fram I could find. I’d run my OCI at 20,000 miles and get three OCI’s in each filter.

My AC charge would be propane. I’m already using Red Tek, a propane/butane mixture. :D
I make my own....

There would be enough abandoned vehicles that ran out of gas but still have usable oil to salvage. Spin on filters would be less than ideal, conversions to cartridge style with reusable/washable media would be ideal.

Sense everyone hates fram oil filters that's probably what would be left. As far as oil, buckets of coastal 15w40 from the bargain stores on the outskirts of towns.

Let’s be real, most of us wouldn’t survive a month without a grocery store and access to clean water.
Correct, it is best to avoid hunting. We are civilized and get our meats at the grocery store, where no animals are harmed.

On a more serious note, in the Mad Max world "Guzzoline", consumables and foods must still be produced in great quantities. It is the control over these which seems to the be the crux of the issue.

In a Madmax scenario, I want to be able to outrun just about anything. Toecutter and his gang on their old Zed's wouldn't stand a chance.

I'd stockpile Motul 300V 4T 15w50, and OEM or Hi-flo filtro filters.

Good idea . How about making a universal oil filter adaptor, that way you can just swap to any type of spin oil filter from those abandon vehicles.

Fair statement.
Though some of us (cough) have a 1.5 yrs stash of food and extra clothes, boots, first aid supplies, fish antibiotics, quality firearms with spare parts and armoring tools, plenty of magazines, spare chest rigs, LOTS of ammo and access out of the way shelter and a well :D

Back to the thread.
gasoline and/or Diesel will be the limiting factor.
Just about any quality synthetic (or even non synthetic ) oil, not too thin, with a smallish viscosity spread and any quality filter would almost certainly never need to be changed since you run out of fuel first. (even if u have a stash of extra fuel, but no one has enough extra fuel stashed to start worrying about oil changes).

Oil: Blood of the tribes that fail to adhere to my rule
Filter: A bunch of human hair finely weaved together and wrapped around a tin can with holes in it.

Of course, I will recycle all used oil responsibly.
