Came across this 2019 Toyota Camry going to salvage auction on Monday for an external fire. Auction location Shreveport, LA.

This vehicle looks like a good project. I suspect the vehicle will sell at auction for under $5k USD before auction fees. I am unable to purchase this vehicle because- but if this vehicle does go under $5k USD, I suspect someone will have done very well.

That would be a sweet deal. It's very rare to find two remotes (keys) in a salvage yard. Most car lots don't even have two keys with a used vehicle. If you know someone with wiring skills it would be an easy fix especially if they charge you on the good ole boy rate. Maybe you could even repair most of it yourself.

Super sad I am unable to bid on this Avalon. You mentioned a huge positive sign- two key fobs.

About eight years ago I rebuilt a like vehilce, a Mercedes S class with 40k miles, I paid $300 USD before fees at auction. Times have changed, no longer able to get $300 auction vehicles. A homemade single axle trailer that is twisted in half sells for $300 at auction today.

Have you ever checked out Ken's Repairables in Strasburg ND? They get some sweet deals for sale at times.

I think after the engine fire Navigator the next logical step actually is flood damaged vehicles ;)

Looks good to me! Just bolt on some Rock Auto parts for a tidy profit.

Apparently they want $200 just to participate in the auction.
The salvage auctions require an account, and a fee is charged to setup an account. The higher priced vehicles also require an increase in a deposit.

The nice thing about the fee and deposit is that it limits the pool of bidders. But the pool of bidders is still massive.

The pool of bidders sometimes gets smaller in more remote areas. Might be easier to get a deal in Billings Montana than Miami, FL.

The cowl and bottom part of that windshield were the hottest part of the fire, which is why I suspected wiper motor.
