Solar is still expensive (although solar panel cost are coming down) and Windfarm transmissions are failing within 2.5 years that were supposed to last 20 years.
Neither is what one can consider as high density energy.
The only other form of high density power (which is what we have to consider) is nuclear. I am a proponent of more research in PBR and breeder reactors in order to use nuclear sources and waste to produce power.
But in the meantime, we need to use the high-density energy resources found in rich hydrocarbon resources such as gas and oil we have in this country.
Greenies complain about solar farms, greenies complain about windfarms dotting the countryside, they complain about fracting, complain about dams endangering some unknown fish, but seem to offer no real-world, viable substitute that can provide energy today. They can't have it both ways.
