Yep! I only buy OEM plugs and coolant from the Dealer. 2 years ago I got counterfeit plugs from rock auto and then Amazon. No more.
OP, duh.who buys spark plugs on amazon?
And Jeff, but Jeff said 3 times is the charm!I've had 3 sets of fake NGK plugs from Amazon that I know of, due to 20K failure.
It simply ain't worth it to me. Pay once cry once.

Every NGK spark plug sold on OverstockDirect is purchased directly from an authorized NGK dealer in the United States. OverstockDirect has authorization from NGK to sell through Amazon and our online store. Since 1973, OverstockDirect has been a small family-owned and operated business. Never have we sold a counterfeit part. This is an illegal act and one that has no place in our business philosophy. Please email [email protected] if you question the authenticity of a product that you have received. When contacting NGK, please provide the country of origin and the lot number on the spark plugs.
It just sent me to an NGK.com article about comparing genuine vs counterfeit plugs side by side.Did the "verify authenticity" qr code not work?

Like I said in the original post, everything points to them being genuine. The only difference is the center electrode tip looks different than the pictures online for platinum G-Power plugs. I also checked any and all other NGK genuine vs counterfeit plugs comparison guides that exist on the internet and none of them could answer my concern about the electrode tip looking differentWhat’s the result?
YepCounterfeit plugs from Rock Auto???
The ones I got from Napa are 100% identical to the ones I had previously got on Amazon. So that means this particular G-Power plug in this heat range and application has a different shaped center electrode than the picture on NGK’s website. It would be a crazy coincidence if the Napa ones were counterfeit as wellBuy local… your parts store can’t afford having anybody have stories like this and blab on SM or the internet, or calling the corporate line without a big hit to their business. Plus, you get to look them in the eyes when you return it.
Globalism has its costs, especially when “expensive” items can be faked very cheaply. It appears you found one of them. Hope you get made whole and learn from the experience.
Edit: they’re only $4.99 each at NAPA, why order them from a known front for counterfeit goods?

You’re 100% crazy coincidence then… it would be the anomaly if what Amazon delivered was identical to what NAPA put bio your hand, given the past 3+ years of actual experience. Not if NAPA actually delivered what was on their website. The ones I got from Napa are 100% identical to the ones I had previously got on Amazon. Yes the plugs from Napa and Amazon both exactly matched the pictures from Napa’s website and RockAuto’s website, but different than the pictures of the electrode tip on NGK’s website. I’m thinking that may be an outdated design on NGK website. Also on Oreilly’s listing, all of the pictures have a different electrode than mine, except the last picture where it shows a 360 spinning image, looks identical to mine from Napa and AmazonYou’re 100% crazy coincidence then… it would be the anomaly if what Amazon delivered was identical to what NAPA put bio your hand, given the past 3+ years of actual experience. How did you determine they were "fake" from RockAuto?
