Lately I've been buying Gearwrench ratchet's as I've needed replacements and have been liking them. The other day I was using the 1/4 swivel head (as a hammer) and broke the selector dial off of the back of it. Uploaded a picture of the damage and submitted a warranty claim on their website in just a min or two (no receipt) and in 3-4 days I had a new one in the mail. Really good customer service and a no questions asked lifetime warranty. Just wanted to share.

I had a positive experience with gear wrench as well. I sent back a metric ratcheting wrench ( prepaid by gear wrench ) years ago and received a new one in a few days.

My mother would turn over in her grave if I made a warranty claim based on my misuse and abuse of an item. And then everyone gets to pay more to pay for it.

I was being a little dramatic for effect. There was something that needed a few light taps while I was in the middle of using the ratchet. I was not trying to drive a fence post with the thing, but yeah it didn't break while using the ratcheting function.. haha

I broke a Gearwrench ratcheting wrench torqueing down a big bolt and broke the ratcheting part. Called and sent a photo and a new one was sent in a few days. Now I'm kind of nervous putting excessive torque on a ratcheting wrench. No idea what they are rated for

I did the same thing…. Broke the ratcheting part… Don’t think it is meant for too much horse power being put on them things.

Ohh well. Win here lose there at times.

I had a set of combination wrenches from Gearwrench. I broke the ratcheting box end on all the wrenches 1/2" to 7/8". The smaller ones still work. They are weak. My cheap set of Husky all still work. I suppose I could have made warranty claims and gotten new replacements but didn't. Too much bother for an inferior tool.

That has been my experience as well. I have two GW rachet/combo wrenches that the gears have stripped almost busting my knuckles and they were in NO way being abused. Just my hand force stripped them. Not very impressed for the price of the whole set I paid. I stopped using them but I might try to warranty them if its as easy as said above. I need replacement 10mm and 13mm wrenches. I currently use ICON wrenches in place of these GW's and so far they've been outstanding.

I had a GW 1/2 ratchet break on me a month ago, it was only lightly used a few times and I wasn’t using it in a hard way when it broke. The warranty process was easy and they had a new one on the way in short order. Good experience, well except for the fact that it broke…

Sold the replacement on Marketplace and ordered a Snap-On

From the "Project Farm" youtube channel where he has done a number of ratchet reviews, the Gearwrench ratchets appear to have high torque limits, certainly not much lower than any other good ratchet (including Snap On's).

I have used their warranty replacement with no issues also. I have a set of their pinless swivel impacts and use the 18mm more than anything sending if full beans with my Milwaukee 1/2" impact. Eventually the swivel locks up and they send me another one. Probably warranty the 18mm about three times so far and they just sent me two last time.

I had miserable experience with gearwrench, 2023 black friday I purchase a 3/8 flex head digital torque wrench model 85078 only a few month later did I actually turn it on and notice the up arrow button on the digital pad is broken. Go online and fill out the warranty form , upload documents fill out a long from, hit submit and get an Error.

I call in customer service ( call 1), Oh your in Canada, we don't do you boy's here, call the Canada number !
Makes sense, I call the Canada number (call 2) and oh they don't do warranty for the digital tools, I am referred to some other place in Ontario. (call 3) Call them up and they tell me an instrument calibration company out of Beauport, Quebec does warranty work

I call them they tell me they are new to doing warranty service for Gearwrench and they tell me it might take time. (call 4) I sent in my wrench and to my surprise 2 weeks later I get it back ! but Still broken ! they did not fixed, as they during there testing no issue found. So I called them back (call 5) and sent if back and wait another month to get if back fixed.

And will this happens I get one same a random package in the mail from Gearwrench it's a 18mm ratcheting box wrench ! Where did that come from: the original warranty web page I filled out that ended in a error I suppose.

5 calls to get warranty fix.

I feel for you Canadians sometimes when it comes to customer service issues and especially with USA companies that sell and distribute in Canada. Their is always a extra layer of BS.

On the same token, my work here in the USA has Canadian customers we support in getting materials and goods to support them is hampered to no end by Canadian Customs and the Canadian Postal Service playing some stupid games. Then our Canadian customers either getting made because of the Customs charges Canada imposes on them and/or us refusing to play games and undervalue or not incorrectly identify items to try and reduce Customs charges.
