The pad that comes with the PC should not be used on the car. I used mine with some metal polish to bring stainless kitchen sinks back to near new look. I wash the pads from both the PC and Cyclo in the washer after a bucket soak. In the bucket I put a scoop or two of Oxyclean, add water, and forget about them for a few hours. Once most of the crud comes out of them in the washer they go. I've done this for years and not lost one single pad to damage.

Obviously if there's only one or two pads hand washing makes more sense.

RT you should give that Dawn power dissolver a try, spray let sit for a few, massage under water/rinse then spin dry on the PC and the pads look like new

,no signs of old product at all.

i washed pads in the WM at first and never really came clean.

i agree with power dissolver

i also use the pinnacle xmt polishing pad cleaner, works really good too. I spray it pretty good on there when I switch to a new pad, and any other pad or applicator i use then at the end of the detail run under warm-hot water and use a little brush i have and they always come out clean

They come perfectly clean for me after the Oxy soak and machine wash. Also I may use 15-20 pads with two machines and I don't want to waste my time hand washing them. By the time I've accumulated that many dirty pads it has been one very long day.

sure i guess, i don't,i was told not to use the WM because over time the velcro backing will start to separate off the pad,i do it the next day after i rested up,may try the Oxy clean.

The backing only has an issue if you let them dry velcro side down and the water settles in the adhesive.

Same here. I've used their snappy bucket cleaner as well and it worked great. Honestly since the car is clean the pads dont get dirty so they stay nice for a while.

I used the pinnacle cleaning stuff today on 8 pads, also sprayed some megs APC+ on there and that worked really well too.

Guess it does not matter what YOU (meaning everyone) use as long as they come clean

I agree,,what ever works for you as long as it works. lol

Got out my 7424 yesterday and laid down a layer of Synwax on the 6. Will probably top that off with a layer of AutoMagic carnauba tomorrow. She's looking great! Couldn't live without my 7424.

Do you not have a backing plate already? I used my 5" backing plate with my 5.5" and 6" pads just yesterday.

No backing plate as the new PC 7424 only came with the white foam pad which everyone say's is junk.
