One of my buds is thinking about selling his 328 Ferrari and getting a Cayman for a daily driver. I went to the Porsche dealer with him to look at one the other day. I really haven't paid close attention to Porches for many years . I have had Friends own some nice 911's etc over the years but the Cayman really seems to be quite a package. Almost a steal for what you get for the money. As a package, great handling, good power ,low maintenance, good mpgs, wonderful fit and finish and when I sat in it, it felt good ! Look up the info. If there was a Porsche dealer close to the third world like City of Redding Calif .I would be a proud owner today "without the direct injection engine option though"

It'd be even better of they made a version of the 987 with the 911 GT3 3.8 litre engine. 415 horsepower in that package would probably be the best all around package for a sports car period.

I think the Cayman shares more parts with the 911 than the Boxster. It just seems to outperform it in most ways. IIRC.

Porsche is never going to let the Cayman outperform a 911. Still, it's gotta urk Porsche engineers that the Cayman has so much more potential, being mid-engined. Nice car, I like it.

I think he means that it outperforms the boxster.

The Cayman shares most of its parts with the Boxster. it is the best handling platform that Porsche produces but the 911 will always be the Top and Porsche will ensure that the hierarchy is maintained by keeping the trick pieces for the 911 and all the 911 variants like the GT3RS and GT2
