I ordered this Didn’t buy off the lot. I wanted the turbo not the 6 as I like turbo engines. All the trash talk on the 4 cylinder is ridiculous. We have a 911 also both are great cars!Very nice car and a stick shift too. Looks like tons of fun.
And in a small, sports car like this one, a turbo 4 makes more sense, as it will likely be lighter and provide batter weight distribution than a V6.

Absolutely. It is fast, but not so fast to get you in big trouble with the local sheriff who is itching for obscene cars.Everyone's got a different opinion on engine choices, when it comes to Porsches.
Here in Denver, I can totally understand the appeal of the Turbo Flat Fours in the Boxster and Cayman.
Instant power, all of it, and much faster launches when the light turns green.
My wife has her Abarth, and we also have had the Guilia and we currently have the Stelvio.
I completely understand the appeal of the power-now thrill.
But, when I'm up in the mountains, and I've got the windows rolled down, and I'm slicing up the canyons from Estes Park to Mount Evans, and I'm hitting Lefthand Canyon, Coal Creek Canyon, and everything else in between, when I'm going full boogie with the engine singing between 5k and 8500 rpms, NOTHING sounds BETTER than my 2.7 Flat 6.
Any other engine, I'm going way faster, and can't keep my foot in it as long as I can with the smaller displacement 6.
That's why I didn't unload my wallet when they released the 718 with the 4.0 engine.
It's a magnificent car, but I don't mind enjoying the full song for longer in my car.
And if I'm on one of those moods where I want to go FASTER, I just take one of the bikes.
My 848 at full song is just as amazing as the Cayman, and it's a whole bunch faster than the Cayman.
And the SuperSport is faster still than the 848, but doesn't have the same raw snarl and heft of the 848, since it's a much more refined bike than the 848 is.
Choices are always a good thing, in my experiences.
I saw a comment recently in the form of a question: "Is the new M3 a German Mustang?" The question was because of dumb drivers losing control of the rear end when they go WOT while cornering at fairly innocent speeds. S58 has so much torque so low that it is easy to lose control.I feel the same way about my Club Sport; it only has 149 hp, but it weighs just 2800 pounds. It's a truly analog driving experience that rewards technique.
