Logic? I don't see any. Glad to see I'm not the only one that went "Huh" when I read his post.
But back to the original topic - I'd pick Valvoline only because that is what I have used for years - decades actually that is up until about 2000. I realize that's not the best reason in the world for picking an oil but that's my story and I' sticking to it!
But I wouldn't hesitate to use Quaker State if the price was right!
Right now 2 of my 3 cars have Pennzoil in it - the other has Valvoline. The SUV had Mobil Clean 5000 in it when I sold it last Jan.
BTW - I thought it was Pennzoil that had all the problems with sludge! (Yes I realize that back in 1998 Quaker State and Pennzoil merged).
