The temperature control valve is bad on my shower and I’m pretty sure I’ve replaced it once before but for the life of me can’t figure out how to remove the thing. The parts have a lifetime warranty so they shipped me a new part as a plumber likely wouldn’t have one in stock. Part 8 in the diagram is what I can’t remove without feeling like I’m going to really break something.

I used a puller to replace the cartridge in my Moen shower valve, although the replacement instructions didn't expressly require it. The process was reasonably easy with the puller, but I'm not sure how it would have gone without it. Does one exist for your brand?

I have replaced several Moen cartridges, the first one I ever required a puller, it would just not budge, since I have a puller I always use it now.

Is that a Moen fixture?

It’s a Mirabelle brand fixture. It looks like the collar just unscrews from what I’ve found online. I’ll spray some vinegar on it and let it soak. Maybe it’s just gummed up with calcium making it hard to turn. I’ll get a strap wrench too. Thanks fellas.

Figured I’d update this. A strap wrench and a lot of tugging and I was able to remove this thing. I felt like I was going to twist the whole thing off the wall. I put some silicone on the threads so it hopefully comes off easier if I need to remove it in the future.
