I just had a positive experience with Home Depot and Pfister and thought I'd share it, as it may save someone some money.

Our bathroom sink faucet sprung a leak on the spout, it's 11 years old. I went to Home Depot where I bought it on the outside chance I could identify the faucet to order a replacement spout. No luck. The salesman said they had a warranty and suggested I go to the Pfister web site and send them a digital picture (kudos to the salesman). I did, and I asked about if there was a warranty and if they could identify the faucet for a replacement spout. I left it sort of open-ended as I have zero paperwork on the faucet.

They got back to me stating that the faucet was out of production and I should browse their web site for a replacement. I found a roughly equivalent faucet and replied with the model number. The replied back that the faucet would be shipped out under warranty and we should receive it in 7-10 days. Not bad, I'm a happy customer.

As a side note, if you get a leak in the spout of a faucet, tape it and remove the flow restricting aerator. The aerator is what causes pressure to build in the spout making a little pinhole spray like the dickens.

I bought the cheapest chinese faucet in the world... with a lifetime warranty. I'm saving the box and slip proudly under the sink... mostly because it's holding little leftover bits of pipe and my solder/ flux collection.

My home is 14 years old. Every faucet , shower and tub spigot was lifetime warranty. Moen and delta have replaced about half my fixtures and sent replacement parts to stop leaks 3-4 times.
I finally bought a stainless sink faucet to replace the white moen and it is a Blanco , which is also lifetime warranty.
I hear that Phister is very good too.

Your cheap chinese lifetime faucet will only be as good as the retailer you bought it at. Keep the sales slip.

As far as I know Moen only warranty the cartridge, they are good faucets, but not really much better than some of the cheaper alternatives.

I had the same experince with HD, except the faucet was an American Standard. There was a flaw in the workmanship that made the plating start coming off about a year after I bought it. A few years later I decided to take care of it since I was fixing a leak underneath. I told the plumbing guy about it and he said bring it in and I'll just swtich it out for you.
