You already realize it, but there's some of your problem right there. I wouldn't run either of those past 3,000 miles, not only because of the ADBV, but also because of the e-core design.
Just as it is with a Fram, there are better filters out there, for not a whole lot more money.
Were are your facts stating that ecore style is subpar to other conventional filters? I make a statement without facts, you jump all over me. Minus the nitrile adbv, I want to see proof that all other conventional off-the-shelf filters are better than ecore. Internally they are not subpar. Everyone irratioanlly states that the combination relief, adbv, nylon core, and all-around makeup of these filters is lesser in quality than others. This couldn't be any farther from the truth. The combinational valve is rated the same as other brands, the nylon core has a higher collapse strength than other metal cores, and the media is rated up there in efficiency with all brands lacking synthetic blended media. This is a low cost, high quality, American made product whether people want to admit it or not
