Please help me choose

I have narrowed down two oil that I want to get for my car.

1. Amsoil 5w30 signature series Full Syn

or

2. Mobil 1 0W-40 extended life Full Syn

Both fully Syn but I don't know which one I should get for best engine wear.

What kinda car? Engine? Miles on the engine? Driving style? MPG? Extended OCI?

I also heard that 0W-XX formula's are better for gas mileage and better at preventing engine wear.

When I complete 10,000 miles on Pennzoil Ultra, I am planning on using my 5w30 Amsoil Full Syn. stash and a Amsoil Eao Filter.

Currently using a Bosch Distance Plus Oil Filter.

After 300,000 miles, let us know which gives better life.

Lexus GS450H. 15,000 Miles.
Driving Style: Varied. Sometimes fast sometimes on eco mode. Most of the time Unknown because wife drives it.

Don't know what OCI is.

There must be one oil better than other in terms of engine protection in this case. Which one is better I will buy. Currently I am using Amsoil 5w30 but the winter is coming so I am thinking about switching to 0W-40 Mible 1 but comparing the specs Amsoil is better marginally.

However, I don't know how good the ball bearing result is for Mobil 1 0W-40 to make the definitive decision.

OCI = oil change interval (What are your plans for how long you will leave the oil in for?...)

Probably makes zero difference in engine wear - but really no need to switch away from 5w30 synthetic in the winter.

What viscosity does your manual call for in the UK?

I understand now.

With Amsoil I am planning to use it for 10,000 miles before chaning but change oil filter and top up oil every 3,000 miles.

However, with Mobil 1 I am planning to change it every 5,000 miles with 2,5000 oil filter change and oil top up.

The manual states 20W-50 and 15w40 API grade SL or SM multigrade engine oil
10W30-5w30: API grade SL "Energy-Conserving" SM "Energy Conserving" or ILSAC multigrade engine oil.

I dunno about all the filter changing, but that will work. Your choice.

Maybe just stick with Amsoil and change the filter at 5000.

20W-50 conventional oil in that engine would be interesting midwinter in the highlands!

What is your vehicle spec'd for? If it's a XXw30, then use the Amsoil. If it's a XXw40, use the M1. With only 15000 miles you have your warranty to consider.

I believe it can use both. So I don't think I have the warrenty issue.

Since you asked, I would have to integrate price and availability in your location. That would probably be my deciding factor.
