Pizza Hut Mushroom Mystery

I just called Pizza Hut now.
I asked to speak to someone who handles " lost and found"

Christy comes to the phone.
I asked her if she found my mushrooms yet ????

I need to check that out.

Pizza Huts in my area are barely hanging on. Marco's Pizza is expanding and is pretty good.
Why is that? Bad food?
Funny pizza shops here are like barber shops...closed on Monday...yeah seriously

Our Pizza Hut went down hill many moons ago. As far as the wife and I are concerned everybody out pizzas the HUT.

What's wrong with eating pizza with a fork?
Originally, pizza, or rather its Roman predecessor pisna, was a street food to be eaten with your fingers. At Chez Maurice it's okay if you choose to use utensils for eating pizza. But even there eating pizza with your fingers is perfectly fine. Just make sure to fold your slice so you don't drip sauce and cheese all over the place. People don't want to see that. Some foods just taste better if eaten with your fingers.

Zee09: I recall quite well; for school English class, if we did real good teacher would take all us kids out to Pizza Hut for own personal pan pizza. There was one where I live now, but it closed down and now is a Mexican restaurant🤬

Yeah Adam mom and I used to sneak out to the hut and get them and they were great many moons ago.

Sundays, mom and grandma(moms mom) would take us there. Grandma liked the buffet, and their food in general. One where I grew up is still there too
Yeah the buffet was a steal.
That must have been 30 years ago?
For me anyway.

Many prefer to eat the fingers separately.

There is so much great pizza here…

But there’s something about the taste of a pizza hut pan pizza, and particularly of Pizza Hut mushrooms that I enjoy…

Maybe it’s because they’re salty and canned, and not the fresh ones we buy and cook with?

I like the taste of canned green beans too, but I think it’s because it’s different and we never buy/consume them…

Depends on where. I've tried at a Pizza Hut on a business trip to China where the ingredients were sort of what we would expect. They used canned mushrooms that were slightly yellow and rubbery. But everything else was pretty similar. What we ordered was a basic combo pizza with bell peppers, onions, and meat. But the rubbery canned mushrooms were really odd on a pizza.

I've tried using canned vegetables before where we were used to using frozen. Corn kernels kind of work, but canned peas simply just fall apart when cooked.

As for pizza, we've got our California style stuff here. Some of it seems off the wall, but having peach on a pizza isn't really all that bad. There's also this place opened by a native of Brooklyn, but some of the stuff is also a little bit weird. I've talked to the owner a few times, and when I said the ingredients didn't seem all that New York, he said that he sometimes tries to throw in a California twist. Their house specialty is "Julian" - kale, Sicilian style sausage, red onion, chili flakes, mozzarella, and pecorino. Sounds weird, but it somehow works.

A good pizza deserves porcini. Field mushrooms are kinda meh and I don't like ****ake at all. The problem.is of course the cost of porcini and off the top off my head I know only one place here that offers porcini as a topping and it's a seasonal specialty. If you like porcini, you can get powdered porcini for less cost. You can sprinkle powdered porcini on pizza, into sauces, onto egg dishes like you would do with spices. I buy either US or Canadian porcini. I don't trust the Chinese ones and the European ones are likely a tad hot. ☢️ 🤢

S**take got censored. That's alright, they do taste censored to me.
