Piston Soak

I have a Toro Super Recycler Mower with a 6 H.P. Briggs Engine, yesterday I noticed the mower was down on power, so I took the spark plug off and cleaned it, it ran a bit better, so I brought the mower in the garage and took the carburetor off, the fuel bowl was clean, I then just sprayed the carburetor with some carb cleaner and sprayed the carb linkages.

Took the mower out and it ran fine, this morning I took the spark plug off and noticed some carbon inside the spark plug hole, maybe what I was looking at was the piston, I went ahead and put 2 cap fulls of MMO into the spark plug hole and pulled the cord a few times and put the spark plug back on. Should I let this piston soak go 24 hours or maybe 48 hours, is there a product that will do a better job than MMO as a Piston Soak.

try getting the engine good and hot, then do the intake method using Seafoam or water. that aughta de-carbon that bad boy.

I was thinking about getting the engine hot, thanks for the info, if MMO does not do the trick then I will try Seafoam.

Get a windex bottle fill it with hot water. Get your mower good and hot, spray the windex into the carb while running 3/4 to full throttle. Spray the windex in, at a good pace, you are not looking to drown the engine or put a fire out. That should de-carb the engine. Change the oil when finished.

Yes there is, it's called Amsoil Power Foam. I never leave home without it

Go straight for the Seafoam,MMO is great for maintenance usage but to liquify that carbon....SEAFOAM....overnight or longer rotate the engine every few hours,add more, etc..
