Wouldn't it be easier to just buy a cheap real snowmobile? That first one it looks like the exhaust comes out in front of the driver's face, so he gets a face full of exhaust every time it runs. What was he thinking?

Not really, as rule of thumb, vehicles in Russia cost almost twice as much as they do in the States. 3 year cars sell for the price of brand new ones here (thanks, in part, to 100% import tariff).
There was only one make of Russian-made snowmachine--Bars (Snow Leopard). It was difficult to find one to buy, and Yugo was built better than that thing.
