I had a wine slushy (don't judge guys

) last summer and I was impressed at how it actually didn't melt. It was at a car show in about 95-100*F heat. Very very hot that day..

Maybe unlike the vodka, the wine was so weak it had a somewhat normal freezing temp.

By ramp personnel, yes.

However, a number of aircraft still use alcohol to deice while in flight... though heated leading edges are nice (turbine powered only) and no extra weight.... and I've patched (& replaced) more rubber deicing boots than I can count. A lot of Russian planes use alcohol deicing in flight.

I once spent 5 hours in a merry go round of de-icing prior to take off for a 3 hour flight. There was only two of us in the front cabin - and AC kept us well "de-iced" too ...
