I finally saw the new Bosch DistancePlus at AAP, there is no visible difference... the bosch is just heavier, has anybody cut one open yet?
Oh.. and the bosch comes in a nice fancy plastic see-through box

Would be interesting if you had a pic of the PureOne, Bosch Premium and the Bosch DistancePlus next to each other

The visible differences are a heavier gauge baseplate and heavier gauge can (0.02" according to Bosch). That's probably what contributes to the majority of the weight. The only unknown is the filter media. Is it the same as PureOne or something new? Someone is going to have to sacrifice one of these $15 beauties to find out.

No need to sacrifice, use it then cut it open. The average price I've seen ~$13.50.

I am now wondering if they are going to turn the Bosch Prem into a Puro Classic clone, because the ones I saw in AAP recently, didn't say 99.9% efficient on the box. No number listed.

We should send the person testing a dollar or two to cover expenses... In My Opinion it is well worth a couple bucks just to see it.

There at my AAP also, look the same didnt seem more heavy duty just holds more dirt big deal i would not spend the $13 over the P1.

When I used the term "heavy duty" basically meant a thicker gauge can, plus it's advertised increased holding capacity. That said, I've never had an oil filter become misshapened/damaged due to oil pressure or other factors.

Is it worth 2x+ the price of a P1, only the individual can decide that. It's not for me.

How many people have had a filter fail because it's holding capacity wasn't sufficient and it plugged from dirt?

this is what Bill would say Marketing Kool-aid,lol,there's nothing wrong with the P1 AAP sells why they would need the "new" filter line to compete is strange. There the same filter!

It will not have fiber end caps ... maybe when FRAM makes a $13 filter it will.

Fram does make a 13 dollar filter with fiber caps. Their "racing" filters have them. Actually they are 16 bucks. :)

Wow, I have never seen them for that much.

I paid $16 each for the HP1 in 1978. That was at discount. I didn't know that it was a common 3/4-16 thread filter. I just got it to fit the dual remote mount that was, at the time, a Fram part number.
