You can use a bypass in parallel with a full flow. It just takes a few miles to get it fully enveloped. You'll have a localized hot spot for a bit.

Garry, Well 1500 is my usual cruising speed, sorry for confusion.
At iddle, 700 rpms, fuel pressure is about 250Kpa cold, and 305 Kpa hot.
Yes I have a thread converter nipple, the seller sell it with the kit.
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to locate an Amsoil dual guard to purchase, so I bought the Permacool one. Hope the permacool will do fine after I fix the choice of filters.
I have no idea of the block relief settings...

UnDummy, yes, the filters are "PH8A" sized same as EaO15 if I remember correctly.
At first, I was projecting to use this Permacool adapter and modify it a few to allow full bypass filtration, I mean, plugging the oil return path between full flow and EaBP, the full flow receiving oil, filtering, and sending back to lubrication circuit, under pressure, the EaBP receiving a part of oil, catching soot particles, and sending clean oil to the engine, via a restriction orifice (0.06") to the oil filler tube.
Then,I saw pictures of the AMSOIL kit, the BMK-13 wich uses a full flow filter + 1 EaBP filter, in parallel, and find this setup more simple and changed my project to just be very careful in oil filters choice and mount them in parallel, same as BMK-13.

Am I wrong thinking that way? I mean, does AMSOIL BMK-13 offers bypass filtration (soot removal) or not?

The Amsoil units have a biasing valve in them to to provide a better differential to induce flow through the EaBp filter. It's not mandated ..but gets it filtering more sooner in the OCI. You'll still do very well with it setup your way.

I take it that you meant this the other way around

Well, you've got plenty of room as a ceiling for oil pressure, so I don't see any issues there.

Just to recheck, what's the oil pressure at when you first start it in the morning? Is it greater than 410kpa? Have you ever seen it above 410kpa? If so, how high?

hmm, as far as I remember, I've never seen my oil pressure above 410kpa, in any circumstances...

so, in a nutshell, if I understand correctly:

- AMSOIL BMK-13 or Permacool clone really work;
- in parallel with the EaBP100 bypass filter, I can use a full flow such as the 51647(no by-pass valve), though the Amsoil EaO15 (with by-pass valve) will fit too;
- as it is a dual filter mount, no matter to worry about max flow rate.

Do I forget something?

I was re-reading the post and I realized that I made a "funny" reply to you concerning oil pressure : 1st, I talked about fuel pressure instead of oil, and 2nd, I still wonder where I got the values. In fact, oil pressures at iddle (700 rpms) are : 330 kpa cold, and 270 kpa hot. I Must be tired or I must stop irish coffees....

So, are we now correct below here:

Is max observed pressure (at any speed) 330kpa or 450kpa

Usually, you'll see peak pressure upon startup.

You don't have much of a gap there between peak pressure and minimum pressure. Now that's normally not necessarily a good or bad thing. What it means is that until you see that needle coming off of 330kpa, you're (probably) at some elevated PSID across the filter. This passes rather quickly.

If you want to observe the event, you can install gauges on the extra ports. It will show you the differential across the filters. It will peak out at your in block bypass setting. It's neat to watch.

May be higher at cold, but I didn't want to revv the engine at cold...

Okay ..then let's call it 450kpa max and 270kpa minimum. You look like you've got enough room for any pressure elevations due to anything like line length or whatever before you hit relief limits. I don't see any issues there. You'll know if your new indicated pressure is lower under cold conditions. At worst, I'd expect a slower swinging up of the gauge needle as the static fluid gets up to speed.

Are you mounting this high up? Just one added note here. Your filters may not drain back ..but the line will. Also, if mounted too high, they will drain forward.

If this is the case, seek out a pair of sprung ball check valves. They will keep the lines and filters full. They should have a 1lb breaking pressure.

The kit will be mounted at top level of the engine, even a little above valve covers.
What are precisely "sprung ball check valves"? I've search via Google but can't find any litterature ont them, and no sellers online.

See if it becomes an issue of merit. It was merely an annoyance thing for me.

Another note. Leave enough slack in the lines (secure with electrical zip ties) so that you can unbolt the mount to put a pan under it. It makes swapping out filters less messy.

You can mount them both on the block adapter. Just make sure you bias them correctly.
