Ok, I bought a filter cutter and this is my first time cutting one open!
This is off my mom's 2011 Honda Accord that doesn't see very much driving, it's almost all in town short trips.

Fram PH7317
112,062 miles on car at change
12 months & 2919 miles on the filter.
Blain's 0w-20 synthetic (Citgo). No oil added during OCI.

Looks great and the ADBV was soft and pliable.

Looks pretty good; it looks like the technique was sketchy just like when most of us first started. When adding turns on the cutting screw, I usually do at least 3 full spins of the canister (if not a few more) and then add one half turn on the cutting screw. This way, rather than punching holes from brute force of the cutter, you make the whole canister paper-thin, and then the last half-turn is just enough to slice the can the entire way around.

Solid first effort, welcome to the club! 👍

Thanks for the tip, my next one will be better now! That will be a Champ PH2867XL off my Subaru Impreza in a couple months 👍🏻

Interesting that some ExtraGuards have crimped metal seams like this one. I'm pretty sure the PH6607 has a glued seam and you have to step up to the TG6607 for a metal crimp on that model.

I cut open a recent constructed ph4967 and it had a metal seam.
