Me too. I think our Jeeps are twins separated at birth! Ha ha.

Ironically the cheaper Silvers work wonderfully for me on the Jeep. I like Wix and have a Gold on the Lumina right now, and a Silver on the Sebring.

putting looks aside (I've seen plenty of ugly filters that did their job) I still have the same reservations I voiced above. the witness marks on the end cap only indicate that it was sealed when it was new, not that it remained sealed in the deformed position. That end cap is WAY out of sorts from where it was when assembled.

Looking at it as assembled I just have reservations as to how well it sealed after it started to move, especially after considering how little pressure is applied to the filters I have taken apart.

I have no problems with any filter, regardless of construction, that does its job ... so long as I remain confident that it did its job. When I see stuff like this, I just simply don't remain convinced.

I'm gonna point out this: did it tear:NO. Who cares if some little thing people see makes it in their eyes sooo bad? I could say far worse stuff about my tough guard filter I pushed to 8,400 miles bit at end of day it didn't tear and did the job. I disagree about "using any filter" as I would NOT use China off brands like Eco Guard,Pronto and the yellow Valvoline jobber garbage. Engines aren't cheap. Remember that

The endcap seal is a commonly raised topic from those who don't care for the fiber endcaps.

Things to remember...the seal is smack on top of a steel center tube. The impressions IMO are from pressure. And having used and cut a good number of them, I will tell you the ADBV is often so firmly seated against the cap that a bit of cap residue will actually be adhered/implanted on the bottom of the ADBV.

That and I highly doubt these filters could obtain a 95% at 20 micron efficiency rating if they "leaked".

No worries plenty to pick from.

Yep, the pressure area is the circumference around the center tube hole, where the impressions are seen from the leaf spring pressure on the components.

It would take a huge amount of end cap deformation to disturb that sealing area IMO. Way more than what's seen in these photos.
