Good Mmorning BITOGERS. FILTER IS FROM Hyundai Respecter. Off of his 2019 KIA Soul 1.6 GDI engine also. On for 4 months and 3,300 miles. Mileage when he changed oil and filter was 30,400

Oil back in was 3 quarts PP 5w30 and 1 quart QS “all mileage” 10w40. Looks very good I say.

Says "Mann+Hummel Korea" on the can. Thought Microgards were made in Vietnam.
This is what is confusing, it is clear the Microgard is based on the Premium Guard oil filters, but the Microgard oil filters follow the same part number as Wix for example my truck calls for a Wix 51040 and the Microgard MSL51040. Maybe there is some connection between the two companies.

But if that is in fact a mann + hummel filter (which it is I see now on the images), they need to keep up that same build quality because I been seeing a bunch of Wix filters with uneven spacing between the pleats, sloppy glue, lopsided end caps, etc.

I think some filter companies use that model numbering scheme even if there is not any kind of relationship between the companies. They do that so their filter line numbering system is easy to cross over the same filter model applications.

girl friends 2018 kia optima gets a fresh one at EVERY 5 thou or 6 mo interval + quaker state 10-30 full fake synthetic + uses NO oil between changes + prolly due to the DI its the BLACKIST oil i ever seen!!
