Hello all once again,

This time it was my father's 2004 Jeep WJ that needed its oil changed.

Previous oil:
PHM 10w30 with Fram TG16 @ 4500 mile OCI

Next oil change:
PHM 10w30 with Fram TG16 - planning on a 5000-5500 mile oci during this winter

The 04 WJ has the 4.0 like mine. This filter was a typical Fram quality filter, very boring:

Hope you enjoy

Looks good. Running that same filter and oil on my XJ, but 5W30. Had a Mopar filter on before and this one makes it seem to run a little smoother/quieter.

Can't go wrong with that combo

Yeah he has used PHM 10w30 since he bought the jeep with 40k miles on it. 100k miles later that is what it gets. Oddly enough no matter how cold it is no lifter ticking.

Mine had that on 10w30 when it started getting cold out, 5W30 helps a lot for the winter. I'll go back to 10w30 for the spring/summer/fall.

Apparently he knows something we don't! Ha ha.

Filter looks great, running one of those now in fact as you know. Thanks for the cut and post.

Believe it or not, this looks about like my recently ran Extra Guard PH16.

If you still have it, could you count the pleats?

I still have mine and I'll count it tonight.

I'd bet the "improved" Extra Guard will have about 36 pleats up from the old 32. TG should have a few more.

I'm so sorry I didn't see this. Finals week was hectic at university.

Unfortunately the filter is long gone so I cannot count the pleats. When it's time to to change oil on my father's jeep, I will make sure to count the number of pleats.

No problem. I haven't counted mine yet either.

Still have it believe it or not.
