Has anyone tried the Permatex Spray Sealant? It’s for low pressure applications like pan gaskets, or high side of diffs, anywhere where slashing oil can leak out at a bad gasket. I wouldn’t put it on a hose but it might help on those pesky leaks where pans bolt to rails.

I used this this month.

I had an oil pan weep (involved job to replace on my car) - I spent a night cleaning the entire perimeter of gasket area. Warmed the engine up, put a shop vac on oil fill plug to pull a vacuum on the crankcase to in hopes suck any of the sealant into any voids in the gasket.

I applied 6 coats with 1 min wait time in between. Let cool off and sit for 2hrs, then did 6 more coats. (Overkill likely..)

Comes out like water and then stars to thicken until it drys like hard hard rubber.

Over 1000km driven since then, not even a visible oil stain under the sealant, 100% leak free.

One pics of stains before, a close up of one area after the 1000km, dry and can see the rubberized stuff in that gap.

Has my vote, just follow the prep stuff correctly.
