I changed my neighbor's oil today. I sent him to Walmart for a 5 quart bottle of regular Valvoline. He comes back with a 4 quart bottle of regular Valvoline from Pep Boys. $13.99+TX for a 4 quart bottle of regular Valvoline! Why did he go to Pep Boys instead of Walmart? He said he doesn't like standing in long lines.

I wouldn't necessarily say it's a rip-off... they probably just don't have the wiggle room to force their suppliers into giving their products to them at a lower price or threaten to not sell their product.

I don't mind the lines so much. It's the inconsiderate people who place their shopping carts in the middle of the aisle. I would like to throw rocks at those people. Some Walmarts are usually pretty packed and I just can't understand how people completely disregard the rest of us. There are 10+ Walmarts within 15 miles of where I live, and I sometimes go to a farther one to avoid the mess. But I would consider going to a different company if I don't plan on spending too much. In fact, I'm starting to love to shop at Sears. At the stores near me, I can basically have the entire store to myself!

Dont take what I am about to say wrong........

I dont like to go to walmart because I dont like being the only white person in the store.

...

I can go on and on

Edit:

Not here you can't. Keep that kind of talk on forums where it is welcomed by like minded people. It isn't welcome here.

Pep-Boys is a rip off. Compare most of their prices to even Napa or Wal-Mart if you want to. Their oil is insanely priced. The only thing I find reasonable about them are their Purolator air/oil filters (made in USA). That is pretty much the only reason why I go there now these days.

off topic:
I can't stand wal-mart anymore. I am getting in the habit of ordering everything off of http://www.amazon.com. By everything, I mean anything except perishable food. I signed up for the prime membership so shipping is free for 2 day air. Might pay a little more per item but if you buy in bulk, you save. More importantly, no waiting in super long lines where only 3-4 of the 20+ checkouts are open. Do a quick sum of the gas + time you waste going to stores every month and you'll find ordering online isn't as bad as you thought.

I also dont like standing in line for 20 minutes while some $6 an hour retard slowly but surely checks people out. I dont like walking down isles listening to people jabber in there native language (YOUR IN AMERICA SPEAK ENGLISH!). I dont like the fact that 99% of the cars in the lot are run down junk and the people that own them have no respect for somebodys nice car and dont think twice about dinging up your car. I dont like walmart since they took out the guns and hunting section.

you make it sound like only white people are respectable; here, the WM is frequented by plenty of white trailer trash and mullet wearing rednecks and tattooed goth emo freaks. as for immigrants w/ native speaking, well, why do you care? I'm more bothered w/ low class morons than someone speaking a foreign tongue.

please.

EVERY color has its issues.

there is an amazing contrast in cultures near my home. across the street from the super WM is a wegman's grocery. let's just say they don't cross pollinate. the wegman's is a clean, pleasant shopping experience w/ courtious customers and workers. if you have never been to one, try it. sure, the super WM may have lower prices (maybe sometimes) but there is more to shoppong than low prices.

IS there a way to not that this wrong?

Kid I work with was low on antifreeze in his dexcooled sunfire. I send him to walmart for some store brand 50/50 because I know it's a OAT dexclone. He goes to Target and gets Peak.

WM is perhaps the lowest common denominator store, but I can count on their having something across town or across the country if I have seen it recently in my hometown store. I can recommend something in person or on a forum and know it will get picked up if the advisee simply follows my instructions. If they choose not to, that's their cross to bear.

Ive noticed that many brands at Pepboys are expensive, except for sale items, and items in their weekly flyer.

All of the Pepboys in my area(Northern Indiana) have closed up now. I wonder if its due to the pricing..

I saw your rant and while berating folks for not speaking English, ironically, you butchered the language yourself.

One example was when you said YOUR in America. That is incorrect. Your is a possessive. The correct word is the contraction you're, not the possessive your.

So if you are going to complain about others not speaking English, please have the courtesy to speak and write English properly.

Otherwise, you simply look rather foolish and illiterate, not to mention hypocritical.

I don't care if your black or white or asain/etc, one thing that [censored] me off is if you have tons of items, or you are by yourself stay the [censored] out of the U-scan aisles(sp). I can't stand people who bring two little kids and have heaping cart of items and then use the U-scan.

the Local Meijer (upscale IMO than Wal-mart- Has [censored] ammo prices, but good meats and veggies) has the u-scan lanes with just the bags, or they have the ones meant for larger food purchases. It has a belt. With two people working it, it takes no time at all to get stuff purchased. Plus I like bagging my own grocceries, as I like to see how many items I can neatly get into one rebag. I found they will hold at least 25lbs!! (sugar, flour, and Milk)

At our local wal-marts (I go to buy ammo) there are just as many people from all sorts of ethic backgrounds shopping there.
