Pentosin Oils

At work we sell Pentosin oil, both in 5w-30 and 5w-40. I would sure hope it's a quality oil for roughly $12/qt, but do we know anything about it?

I got some at Autozone's year end clearance two Decembers ago. It's good oil, but low-SAPS (not a lot of TBN)

Excellent oil, but not long life IIRC ... So, maybe 7,500 mile oil changes

That's an easy run in a Ford 4.6 or Chevy 5.3

Not true! BMW LL-01 can be Group II, IV or V. In Europe HC oils can be labeled as full synthetic. ONLY in Germany they cannot.

Good oils, maybe better then average, but that is it. 5W40 Pentosin is average HC oil. Much better oils available in the market, including Wal Mart. However, their 5W30 Pento III that meets VW 504.00/507.00, MB 229.51 and BMW LL-04 for diesel engines is really, really good. They were taken over by Fuchs in March 2016, so I do not know whether anything is changed. Pentosin is mostly known as best in business when it comes to steering fluid, DSG fluids and really good (not best) brake fluid.

Better than Mobil 1? I have a bunch from autozone, I was going to sell it, maybe I'll use it.

Which Mobil1? Mobil1 5W30 ESP? I still think ESP is better then Pentosin Superpento III.
