My TDV6 3.0 Range Rover specifies ACEA C3 5W-30, but living in a particularly warm area (SE Texas), I prefer running 5W-40. The only C3 5W-40 that I have found with reasonable availability is Castrol EDGE Full Synthetic 5W40. I have no complaints about it, but I was wondering if any of y'all would know of other oils that meet those specs?

Thanks!

Would probably take a look at this oil, over the imported oils.
If you truly feel like Mobil 1 ESP xW30 is not enough.

ESP X4 0W-40 is available at AutoZone and is C3 and 3.8 HTHS. The Motul Edy linked is good if you are ok with ordering it.

Ravenol sells some in 5w40. Mercedes dealerships used to sell Mobil 1 Formula M 5w40 for their diesels. Motul X-clean gen 2

Nothing says import like Mobil1.

You are saying the Exxon Mobil 1 ESP in 5QT and Nascar logo on the bottle has imported base oil? Would be shocked if that was the case.

On another note,
The JLR STJLR.03.5005 spec wich is also used for the TDV6 allows for 2.9hths oils so I would think 3.5 is enough even in Texas.

And that Teflon or Teton or whatever it is does not?
What are you actually arguing with this import stuff? What is your point?
