The vehicle has a 2 liter diesel engine with DPF, and the relevant approval is STJLR.03.5007 with 0w-30, which as far as I understand, corresponds mid saps, low hths and low kv100 (same as ACEA C2). However hearing about all the timing chain problems on these vehicles, and the car being driven in excess of 110mph regularly, I would like to get something thicker, a thin 40 grade, or thick 30 grade.

I was initially planning on Shell Helix Ultra 5w-40, but just realized it is not DPF friendly. What approval would you alI recommend me to be looking at?
Some of the options I have found nearby are:
Motul X-clean 5w40
Shell Helix Ultra ECT 5W-30
Mobil 1 Full Synthetic 0W-40
Mobil 1 ESP 5w-30
Castrol Edge 5w-40

A3/B4 like Mobil 1 Full Synthetic 0w-40 and Castrol EDGE 5w40 are not suitable with DPF .

Maybe add Mobil 1 ESP X4 0w-40 to the list ,if available (3.8cP ht/hs...Noack however is ~10%) .

Out of the suggested list, I'd pick X-clean gen2 5w-40 (lower -40 weight, higher ht/hs @ 3.9cP...MB 229.52 approved)

Mobil 1 ESP x4 is available, but almost double the price of Motul (esp 5w30 is about 50% more expensive than Motul)
