Just did the oil cooler/filter housing on an '11 Grand Cherokee w 3.6.

It had been done previously once already, looked like maybe OEM based on the Hengst cap. Anyway the previous guy was a bit of a hack, lots of little details overlooked.

When it came to me these brackets were not connected at all, just floating on their lower studs. I installed the one M6 nut seen, but am struggling to get at the lower studs. Access from the bottom or the wheelwell appears impossible.

Does anyone have any tricks for these? And are they 13, 14 or 15mm?

I've got plenty of tools but was hoping to maybe reduce my upcoming attempts to 20 tries for the right combo of tools vs 50 tries ;)

I've done these on transverse motors and they're not too bad, but this is more challenging.

Following up, I was able to get the front one with an XL ratcheting wrench. I didn't think I'd have enough swing, but there was just enough

The slightly extended cap style is best, but spline drive sucks. It is 13mm.

Fortunately (for me), the last guy pulled the rear bracket back and bent it. I'm not going to attempt to straighten it, and if it's not perfect it'll place undue load on the plastic intake. So that one just doesn't get used. It came to me with BOTH disconnected (for years) and is leaving with one disconnected. 50% better! :D
