They are the top-selling conventional motor oil.

Mobil 1 is the top-selling synthetic motor oil.

At least we are getting this type of thread once every 3 weeks or so and not every other day like a couple of months ago.

I was lucky to get that deal on Amazon, it took a month to get it but a nice Christmas gift. I don't know why a bust, my Walmart is still stocked.

I was one of those lucky few, my 4 PU cases is still in back order without shipping date yet. Look like I will get SN instead of SM.

pu is too expensive but the one time i used it, it was very good the engine was much quieter and the used oil analysis was great problem now is you cant get any sn ultra here in nj...most of it is 2009

What year Accord, what OCI, and how do you know it's "more durable?" UOA?

I almost went into Walmart yesterday but decided to wait until after Christmas. Anyway, to the OP: Platinum is very very great!

When I am through with this OCI on PU, I am going to use T5 since I got a bunch of it on fake clearance (11.50 per/gal). Not because I didn't like PU. I just wanna try T5!!! Darn BITOG for making me want to try T5.

It's too bad PU isn't catching on because it is a quality long drain capable oil with a great additive package that carrys some good spec's,a few are...

Agreed, and it may not be a bust everywhere, but it certainly isn't easy to find here in Central Florida. Life is too short to drive all over God's green earth to find oil. Next oil change I will check Pep Boys and if they don't have PU, I guess I'll get PP.

yes true...

PP is outstanding too!

Looks like Ultra is a bust here too, in AAP, and Walmart. Too bad Pennzoil makes some great oil.

HyundaiGuy,

Happy Holidays to you too! No matter what the brand you personally like I always buy oil that always available in my region/area cuz I'm not driving all over the place to find that particular oil/synthetic!!! The way gas prices are switching from one brand to another doesn't matter in my book.
If PP is available then that's fine for your car as it's just as good as the other brand/version/Ultra you like. I'm betting the reason they dropped it from the shelves is that it just costs too much. In my area I think I saw the price tag at $8.99/quart. If you can afford that price tag then your in the groove but it doesn't fit me budget.

PU was $8.49 a quart here at Autozone, PP is $7.49. I don't trade very often (I look to get at least 250K out of my car) so the extra $4 per oil change to me is cheap insurance. PP is $6.29 a quart at Walmart, so it looks like I'll be saving a few bucks.

I totally agree on using a brand/flavor that is easily obtained. I had originally planned to use Mobil 1 exclusively, but the dealer recommended Castrol Syntec, so I used that for a while. I had never even considered Pennzoil until I discovered BITOG. Mobil 1 is out (except for the occasional use in the wife's car) due to high FE readings in UOA reports, and their less than forthcoming answers in the recent Q&A- not trying to irritate- just observing.

I will probably stick with PP, but Valvoline Synpower and Castrol Edge look good as well. In any event, I'll be going back to 5W20. I never could find 5W20 in PU and 5W30 is listed as acceptable in the owner's manual.

Of course, we are talking a lowly Accent here. It probably makes no difference
at all in the overall scheme of things. I drive too many miles annually for it to make sense for me to buy something nice. I am just looking for longevity and reliability.

Just saw PU at Wal-mart for $26.50. It was $25 a few months ago. I seen it in a couple of Wal-Marts now. Thank goodness it's easy for me to find.

Super Duper Great fantistical stuff ~!
