Currently running a Pennzoil 5w30 "HM" in the Mustang which sees 145 mile round trip commute 3-4 times per week with probably another 50 miles of mixed suburban/highway driving. I'm not going to get an UOA as it'll cost as much as a fresh oil change, but what do you think would be a safe "max" OCI? Obvious I feel zero trepidation about going 5000 miles, but would 7500 be too much?

I know color isn't a real indication of the condition of the oil, but if the oil isn't very dark at 6000 miles, then I would keep an eye on it in 500 mile increments which isn't too long for you and then max it out at 7500. Highway miles are easy on the oil.

I'd do every 5,000-6,000 on the Pennzoil High Mileage which would be about every 2 months for you. This oil could maybe go longer in your driving conditions but I wouldn't push it since it's a conventional.

Most of your commute is highway, easily change every 3 months. Id bet you could likely go further even..but i think once per 3 mont
hs would be easily safe.
