anybody ever used peak oil?i did a search but not much on it.it is on sale at advance this month with a purolater classic filter.thinking of trying it.

Wow, I came on here just to search about this. I'm thinking of getting it to use in a 2009 Altima 2.5L. I figure as long as it's SM/SN rated it'll be fine for the severe service interval of 3,750 miles. I know the filter will be fine for that interval, just wondering about the oil. I'll try to find a used oil analysis or a VOA.

Yes it is! The 5qt jugs say WPP on the bottom on them, so it most definitely is. Not bad stuff.

if peak conventional will go 6k then Pennzoil Conventional is good for 12k right

The Peak Synthetic is most likely.....the same as SuperTech Full Synthetic.

You could just buy SuperTech at Walmart, if you don't need a filter, for their EVERYDAY low price of 10 bucks for a 5 quart jug of Dino.....or the SuperTech Full Synthetic for their EVERYDAY low price of ?????

I had 20 quarts Peak 5W30 + 4 Proline oil filters FAR a couple years ago. I used it on S2000 and LS400, it was as good as any dino, Chevron Supreme or Havoline Deposit Shield ..., which is good for 6-7k OCI.

I'll be honest, when I saw "Peak Oil" my first thought wasn't the brand.

But I've seen it. I would use Pennzoil Conventional or Quaker State Conventional first.

We bought 30qts PEAK/6 ProLine filters from PB's(FAR) Sept.'09. Was only going to use it in my daughters Mazda3 as she put on lot's of miles but, ended up using it in all of our cars(Lexus RX, Altima 2.5 and M3) and the PEAK was fine for normal OCI's. I'd certainly get it again at a good price but, I wouldn't pay full asking price for it.

My AAP isn't carrying it that I have seen and I was just there the other day. Wasn't looking for Peak but, I didn't see it either. They had 5qts of Mobil conventional, SN/GF-5 and a Puro Classic filter for $13.99

5qts of PEAK w/filter for a similar price is good, I guess! Less money would make it an even better deal!

I"'ve used the super tech with good results several times. If peak is the same, I will be getting it tomorrow morning at APP for $9.99 for a 5qt jug and a Puro classic filter included.
Thats a darn good deal on a good oil.
I call it a no brainer.
Gonna buy it for both our cars. OCI won't be due till fall, but thats OK.....I'll wait.
