Ahoy;

Caught this off the Peak website:

http://www.peakantifreeze.com/images/press_pk_global_lifetime.pdf

This is the first place I've seen that says flat out that you never need to flush & fill again if you use this stuff. They say 'routine maintenance' is required (topoffs specifically mentioned). From reading this article I get the feeling that 'routine maintenance' per your manual applies to everything BUT changing the coolant.

Man that it is pretty **** confusing to me.

the saab orange coolant (I believe it is G-34 and carries the GM approval number that is the same as dex-cool) in my 04 9-3 is supposedly "lifetime".

JMH

Would somone request the a copy of the full warranty for Peak and post it?

I may be mixing Peak up with some other coolant, but I believe I read some time ago that there would be some likely events that will void the warranty....like maintenence work that causes you to remove some or all of your coolant.

If that's the case, if you replace a hose, the warranty would be over. Considering aperson who used peak would osually be putting it in a 3 year old or older car, that's a pretty likely event in the next 5 years.

Also, what is the criteria for the coolant being declared dead by Peak?

Added Later:

I emailed Peak and requested a full copy of the warranty. Will post it when I get it

Thanks XS650. This thing really is amazing to me...we need to 'run it to ground'!!

I have just replaced coolant (non-Peak) in my three cars. I will use it next time around (probably 5 years from now) if it is still in the market.

The warranty is here online. I think you'll have to go to this home page and click on a link at the bottom to bring up a pdf file.

Will pay up to $1000 for replacement of cooling system parts like heater core and water pump.

See Warranty: Click at bottom

(edit) Question : Is this a G-05 equivalent fluid ?

On sale at Ace Hardware now, $5.49 after rebate. So how about a plan of replace the antifreeze and hoses every 5 years.

Likely I am going to stick to my Prestone Low tox. May even replace the Dex-Cool in my 02 Cavalier with it before too long. Rinse, rinse, rinse.

It looks like a good warranty. It doesn't have the exclusions I remember seeing on some lifetime coolant warranty earlier.

Yeah...I kind of wish I had used it in my chevy when I changed the DexCool this spring.
