Has Peak coolant ever had 2-EHA, more specifically the Peak regular green? Reason I ask is I did a stat change, flush and fill today, probably the first time on 15 years. It has always had, as far as I know, Peak regular green antifreeze. Some of the rubber parts were essentially mush. The radiator cap rubber was soft and gooey, along with the thermostat gasket. The thermostat gasket was swollen to about 1.5 times the o.d. of the thermostat it was on, and very soft. The petcock o-ring for some reason wasnt. This is on a 1988 Toyota Corolla btw.

I had similar issues in the early 2000s with older (15+ years) cars that used green. I suspect the old seals deteriorate as a function of time, chemicals, and repeated hot/cold cycles, and no coolant will save them. Newer seal compounds may be better and may last longer, but time will tell...
