I was having an e-mail conversation about Polar Longlife Antifreeze+Coolant (same as Peak IMO) and got this response...
----------
“Yes, 2- Ethyl Hexanoic acid is a component used in the NJTSRN QT-1 corrosion inhibitor formulation used in Polar LongLife antifreeze.
With many millions of gallons of coolant sold that contain this corrosion inhibitor, we have not found there to be any evidence that this chemical contributes to the premature failure of gaskets or seals. Polar Long Life can be can be [sic] used in Fords, Chryslers and any other vehicles including motorcycles. As a result we recommend and stand behind this product for the previously mentioned applications.
However, if you prefer an extended life coolant that does not contain 2-EHA, Polar Lifetime antifreeze would fit the bill."
----------
Now I have not seen Polar Lifetime anywhere. I think it is safe to assume this is the cheaper version of Peak Global Lifetime.
