PDF's in Firefox

The last week or three - Firefox can't seem to handle or open pdf's in a tab or window at all. Just automatically tries to download. I used to use an add-on for this, but it quit working and no updates. Firefox changed something and I need some help figuring this out.....what do you Firefox guys do?

The few PDF's I have had to open, I've always had to download them to my desktop.

I am running Firefox 3.6.13 and mine open in a new tab. I was just at the RLI site looking at their motor oil specs and they are in pdf format...opened in a new tab fine.
Check Tools, Options, Applications and look for the Adobe Acrobat Document...what does is say to use?

Works now. Somehow my mimeTypes.rdf file got munched. Not sure how that happened but found instructions at Mozilla. Easy fix.

Weird, I just use fox it with ff.

Here is another user of Fox It.....Adobe has too many dang updates.

Thanks for the Fox It recommendation! It's everything stinking Adobe should be.

I installed it on my desktop last week and it's great. I'm now going to put it on my laptop and notebook.
