Parts shortage. Ouch

Very typical for FCA . Worst run car company in the world. Sad day when they purchased Jeep/Chrysler.
I've had to wait 6 weeks for a steering rack on a current (at the time) generation Taurus, and this was pre-2020 ('16 or so). Mismanaged parts inventories are not the exclusive purview of Stellantis.

Just had one of the Subies here at work fixed (again). Shop said they'd been waiting on a Ford part since November. Waited 10 days for the Subaru part too.

You may want to get the part numbers and see if you can get them quicker on eBay, Rockauto, other.
You may need to go to an independent to get them installed, but it could happen much quicker than at the dealer.
I do that all the time for my used cars, and I work at a Jeep Ram store.

We had a traded in Highlander go to Toyota for a block heater recall. No parts availability.
Toyota solution was to remove the block heater and we'll call you when the part comes in. And we've seen nights at - 25F. Smh.

I do GM/Chrysler parts and I tell you it is a nightmare and a miserable time to be a parts man. We have one customer that prepaid for a jeep hardtop in july of 2021 and we STILL haven't seen it yet. Customer is at wits end and so are we, apparently the company that makes them also does the ford bronco tops so that doesn't help our situation. The worst backorder for GM latley has been brake pads for 2500HD trucks that screech like nails on a chalk board with the factory pads, I have plenty of front pads for those that need them but the service bulletin says replace all and the rear pads are non exist and customers are getting very impatient understandably. Oh no actually the worst is the VLOM for 5.3/6.2 engines!! Most of my day is checking order statuses and it sucks.

This parts shortage really hit home for us. We have a brand new Williams heater ready to install and waiting for propane conversion and high altitude kit for almost a month. We are bundled up in our freezing cabin right now in front of fireplace and electric portable heater. It’s about 50 degrees. Could be worse….

Nice , no tv I hope .Built in late 50s early 60s ?

I design engine control panels for stationary engines, so we use the same kinds of parts as the automotive industry. The part shortages are insane. We're scrambling to find microcontrollers, memory devices, transistors, logic gates, and pretty much any kind of semiconductor. We look at projected delivery times, and it's not unusual to see 50-60 week lead times on some parts. Almost as soon as I find a replacement for one unobtainium part, then another one goes to having no availability, or I have to find a replacement for the replacement. Crazy!

Just 2 weeks? My Camaro has been sitting since November. I was told early January... then by the end of January... then by the end of February... and was just told today "estimated ETA: 10/22/2022." I'm going to have to find an alternative at this point.

Suppose I lucked out as I recently had a bit of work done at the dealership and a new OEM rear axle/seal was ordered and installed in just over 1 week. Wasn't crucial to have it done immediately, but decided to knock it out anyway.
