Parts shortage. Ouch

Suppose I lucked out as I recently had a bit of work done at the dealership and a new OEM rear axle/seal was ordered and installed in just over 1 week. Wasn't crucial to have it done immediately, but decided to knock it out anyway.
Not that long ago, a car transporter bring luxury cars from Germany sank and so did the cargo, add this to chip shortage and nothing is out of the norm these days

When I took my wifes car to the dealer to get an estimate for the bodywork after she a pheasant last Easter Sunday there was a newer 2021-2022 Tahoe sitting in the lot with extensive front and rear end damage. The guy I talked to said that Tahoe has been sitting in the lot for at least 2 months waiting for parts. I should have taken photos of it since in my smooth brain opinion it looked totaled.

Around a month ago I brought a 2021 Mazda 3 in because the temp gauge was not working. Was told it would be a couple of weeks for the part. Last week I called and the parts department for an update and they said it could be as long as NEXT YEAR! I called Mazda Corp. A few hours later I received a called from the dealer saying the part would be in this week. My son has it at the dealer today for the fix.
