Bought this filter from RockAuto under the banner of Premium Guard PG4612EX. RA does specify "various Manufacturer" and that PH2876EX (parts Plus) is equivalent.
So this is a PG made in Vietnam?

It's interesting that my vehicle requires a Mobil 1 M1-108 and the box states it's equivalent to M1-110 (taller can). Which is fine but not really much bigger than an M1-108. (pics of M1-108 are also Vietnam version) So where does one buy the PG version? First 3 pics are comparison to m1-108A

Yeah that is a PG facilitated filter but made by VAFI there in Vietnam as you can see that 8748 on the top stamp which is their factory.

If you prefer the Mobil 1 or 7317 height stay away from the PG4612 size because that is actually a little shorter even than your Parts Plus above.

Just get the extended versions of the house brands from Oreilly, AAP or Autozone if you want the Mobil 1/7317 size and those should be built just like your Parts Plus above but the taller height you are after and they should be Vietnam or China but usually facilitated by PG except some Autozones STP are Champ Labs fwir.

The new Mobil filter.
OP the one you bought are PGI and the Mobil can be had from Walmart.
That's why I asked "of what", because the two filters in his photos are already PGI filters (assuming PGI made the Mobil 1 for Highline Warren instead of HW going directly to a similar or same Asian filter factory that PGI uses).

Based on what I can tell HW may be going to the factory (source). HW would be the true "middle man". What do you ponder?

I wonder if they'd tell us with a phone call. Ha

Since Highline Warren works with tons of manufactures to supply them products they sell/distribute, I'd think it would male the most sense to go directly to the factories in Asia, the same way that PGI does. Why involved PGI when you can go directly to the factories like PGI does.

I just sent an email to Highline Warren asking them if they have PGI made the Mobil 1 filters for them, or if they do it themselves or go directly to the factories in Asia. Stay tuned for a response if they respond to me. I called first, but the tech line has no idea on that information and suggested I send and email and it might get to someone who knows the answer.

I had the same issue when ordering these for my Nissan's - I got the short can. In fairness they are a suitable cross - equivalent to the Nissan short can. Its what a lot of the quickie lubes stuff on in place of the proper size. I have not used mine either but I still have them.

I instead order the Carquest Premium 84356 from Advance which ends up being $8.50 if you use the 15% off coupon and order 4 to get free ship.

Mobil 1 from walmart is good also - just a couple bucks more - assuming your getting the new version.

PG version of what?
PG4612EX. The Premium guard labeled. Not that it matters since it appears all are made in same place. I'm curious as why the PG exists as everything else but.
I did see the the C&P of the PG4612EX, so it does exists. I just keep finding it under different names and brands.

BTW, I'm in canada, so no Oreillys or Advance. I get all filters from RA.

What are you running it on, and OCI? Maybe short can is OK?

Ecogard S4610 also same if available?

Mobil 1 M1-110 as mentioned.

Pronto - not sure on the number?

Forget Rock Auto... Go to Canadian Tire up there and get this filter for $10 USD: https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/...um-synthetic-oil-filter-1172709p.1172709.html

Look how nice.. made by QAP China and cut open by your favorite neighbor up there.

When you put PH2876EX in the search bar on Premium Guard's website, this is what comes up. So apparently there is no such "equivalent filter" with the PG2876EX part number that would be the Premium Guard version of the Parts Plus PH2876EX.

Instead, PGI is saying their Premium Guard branded filter PG4612EX is the equivalent as the Parts Plus PH2876EX. They probably didn't want the two filters to just be different part numbers by a PH or PG in the prefix to prevent confusion. So if you want the PGI version, it would be the PG4612EX.

Amazon sells the PG4612EX.

That looks very similar to the Carquest EP/PG Ultimate!
Noticed a comment saying they look like the new Carquest Extended. These are good looking filters.

Yes it does.. but the way I found out that it was from QAP was that I saw Crazy Bill had another filter from a year ago that is a GK Industries filter and everything looked identical to this Castrol EXCEPT the media difference. Notably the base plate , the strictly 5 digit code on top and the CHARACTERS on the casing which I have not seen anywhere in that exact pattern but these two matched.

I was checking out GK Industries and found that they were owned by QAP Filter and so I emailed QAP and sent them photos of the Castrol and they acknowledged that was their filter but it did take some time for them to respond.
