Specifically for the Audi A4.

I have been wanting to do the ATF fluid in the Audi for some time, but unfortunately something always gets in the way. I attempted it last weekend, but I didnt have a 17mm hex socket..

The kit came with a paper gasket. Should I just use the gasket or should I had some Permatex as well? Perhaps both?

Hopefully this will be the last ATF filter change/ pan drop for a while since the pan has both the drain and fill plugs, but I still dont want to make removing the old gasket material a pain down the road.

You don't want little RTV worms shedding and getting sucked into the trans valve body.

High tack keeps the gasket in place for easier installation, seals well and prevents the gasket from bonding to the pan or transmission for easy removal later.

So dab some on the pan and sit the gasket on that. Then dab some on the gasket and install that to the transmission? (both sides of the paper gasket get the high tack.)
