My Hemi engine cover got market up by the dealer during service.Must have layed tools on top of cover.I found a perfect match for the factory Platinum paint.I know that I must use alcohol to wipe down the plastic for oil/grease.Should I lightly sand the plastic for better paint adhesion?I want to use 1-2 coats of spray paint. Thanks Joe

That's probably very likely. You should raise H*** with the service manager at the dealer and make him replace it with a new one.

The mechanic could have used one of those flannel fender covers they get from the uniform service for laying his tools on, but was probably too lazy to go get one.

X2. Then get the old one back and you can customize to your hearts content.
