Did the search and didn't see anything. New to the site. Apologize if it's already on here somewhere. Running Mobil1 and purolator (gold colored more expensive one) oil filter.

Already running oversize filter on my 99 corolla.

Thanks.

No need for oversize on the CR-V I really dont think their are many if any I run Fram XG 7317 on by 2011 CR-V and 05 Pilot. I would stick with OEM recommended size while under warranty.

If the car specs the Purolator 14610, the 14459 will work and provide more filter media. I'm using this on three Hondas now ('03 Pilot and Odyssey, '09 Pilot).

Obviously Honda engineers did a lot of testing and generated much data to recommend the OEM filter. I certainly see no valid reason to usurp their judgment, especially during the warranty period.

It's been proven by dissection that the Purolator 14610 has more media than the 14459. There have been a few threads about it; might try a search.

14610 = 105 sq-in.
14459 = 85 sq-in.

I don't think an oversize filter will fit a Gen 3 CRV due to an added shield. Instead of the current 65mm I use the 80mm Honda 15400-pcx-004 (s2000 filter) on my 2003 CRV. The pcx-004 is of higher quality construction than the plm-a02 (fram) filter with cardboard end caps. You can try the 80mm filter and see if it fits.

Is there an oil filter with 80mm(3.15") diameter as 15400-PCX-004 but longer by about 1" or 1.5", with same thread M20x1.5 ? Purolator L20073 is one of them but hard to find.

Take a look at the Baldwin B7042 or B202, they might be to big in dim.
The B199 is 3" X 5 1/8" long, that might work.

The problem with Baldwin oil filter is hard to find at local auto parts stores. Unless I buy something else to reduce shipping cost per item, buying few oil filters only make shipping cost per filter too high.

I'll try to search local stores to see if any around is selling Baldwin.

Thanks
