Oversize filter question

What is the largest outside diameter filter that will work on an 06 toyota prerunner? Or am I limited to 3"


Also I was interested in a Baldwin dual flow with p/n BD7120. I'm pretty sure it will fit and work but looking for more info please.

Stock size is Fram XG3614 size, you can use the Fram XG3600 which is huge if you have no clearance issues. There's absolutely no reason to use a filter larger than that

Can't find all the specs for the BD7120 but that looks like it's not a suitable filter for here, on top of being ridiculously expensive.

The Fram Ultra XG3600 is one of the best filters on the market and available for $10 or less. They are rated at 99.9% efficiency at 20 microns and 80% @5 microns with holding capacity up to 32 grams. Full synthetic dual layer microglass wire backed media with silicone anti drain back valve. Nothing touches it near the price. Amsoil and royal purple filters are extremely similar but harder to get and typically much more expensive

RP 20-400 favorite filter for this application.

Mobil 1 M1-209 will work. I also use it on my 4Runner. It's longer than the stock filter and clears the sway bar with room to spare.

The Motorcraft FL-400S is a very popular oversized filter on these and other Toyota V6s; I use it on another Toy/Lex.
