Just heard today there putting in an O'Reilly's here. We have AAP, AZ, Napa, Carquest and a couple locally owned part stores so I'm wondering were they fall in line at? I usually go to Napa or Carquest first then AAP and AZ last.

Do they have anything better the others don't have?

Their microguard filters are entry level wix filters for a decent price. They also carry normal Wix and Wix XP filters.

They also carry lubeguard red, and Ford Lincoln Mercury grease.

But now I usually get my lubeguard from Amazon and now i'm going to use the new Supertech filters for entry level service. I usually stick to advance/cq.

I put them on part with AZ aside from the better oil filter selection (WiX). In my town, O'Reilly is my favorite auto parts store but that's more down to the staff and stock at those particular locations than anything about the chain itself.

Yep. They're my go to. Especially now that you can get CQ red filters there for cheap.

Came here with multiple stores 3-4 years back. Best I can say is, meh. Best deal was some clearance/close out PP qts for ~$2.50/qt. That was a store hit or miss. Other than that not too impressed. Just me.

For b&m stores AAP has saved me the most with use of multiple online codes. Napa been good for Gold filters with 40% off semi-annual sale and Peak Global Lifetime antifreeze. AZ convenient, though not too many deals, but I'd still rate ahead of O'R in this area. My .02

O'reillys stocks a few things in there local network not stocked at other parts stores.
The proper low viscosity DOT 4 LV brake fluid for the cars in my signature as an example.

They have the Ford parts and if not in stock, can usually get it in around 24 hrs. Maybe others are the same way. I've heard that their house brand auto batteries are made by East Penn.

I always check them. Occasionally they'll be the same price or slightly cheaper than Advance after 20% discount. Sometimes they'll have something that other stores don't.

Still, I get less from them then Advance and most of my parts come from online suppliers like RA.

They bought out the parts side of VIP Tire here a few years back to get a foothold in the northeast.

VIP was ready for the takeover-- you had to call the store for a price on a part in 2013-- it wasn't online.

Now the service side of VIP has to walk across an imaginary line and buy ONE filter from Oreillys for $2 to support every bulk oil change.

For joe blow customers without garage discounts it's pretty lame. I use them as a "convenience store" as the locations are better if I break a lug stud etc.

We have all four here, I hit NAPA first, then AZ. Then drive 4 miles to AAP. As a last resort only, I drag myself to OR across the street from the previously mentioned AZ to expose myself to the level of idiocy that only they can provide.

My advice is to have your part numbers ready before you go into any modern auto parts store. Not to give them a plug, but at least look up your part on RockAuto before heading to your local auto parts store. That way you know the price range of your part and you are more knowledgeable on the replacement part.
My local O'Reillys goes through employees faster than I can keep track and the women behind the counter have more knowledge than the men. In my area, they are better than Autozone for two reasons:
1. If they absolutely have to, O'Reillys can get out an actual paper parts manual to look up parts with. AZ uses a computer only.
2. They do sell some parts for vehicles over 1 ton, something AZ has long given up on.

I like O'Reilly's better than AutoZone. AutoZone attracts pretty trashy people in Phoenix and the Phoenix metro area. Also I don't like their parts, haven't had a problem with O'Reillys parts.

O'Reillys vs AutoZone is like comparing Target to Walmart (O'Reillys being Target, it's nicer).

Turning rotors is pointless now. Just buy new ones
