My glass shop charges $50 for the first chip and $30 for any chip after that, up to 3 chips. Just had them do 2 on the Genesis last month, as my insurance put in a $2,800 windshield earlier this year.
Agree with what @doitmyself said. I'd try to get some positive references from actual customers of a glass shop not who the insurance company recommends.
Got a stone chip on the '21 GMC a couple of weeks ago and the next day it had cracked 6 inches so no chance to save the OEM windshield. Luckily I have a father/son glass shop I trust to do the job and get me quality glass.
I have had good results with using this repair kit from Amazon on several windshields with similar bullseye chips. Follow the directions and use a hair dryer on the inside to draw the filler adhesive deeper into the cracks. Also, let it cure for an hour exposed to UV or sunlight before removing the curing film and scraping with the razor blade. The Rain X kit is similar, but this kit is less expensive and has a brass threaded collar instead of plastic and contains more adhesive.
