A franchise Diamond Glass guys comes today to fill in the chip and the windshield cracks.
Had a small crack to begin with so I was prepared mentally for a new windshield.
$350 and will be installed Monday on my newish Camry.
Today's windshield are so #@$%! thin to cut vehicle weight.

Had another one replaced on a Corolla 2-3 years ago.

I don't know about NJ but in Florida by law the auto insurance company will pay for a new windshield for free.

One thing I've found that helps is to research and purchase quality glass. So many of the cheaper replacement windshields are made of recycled and reground glass that just doesn't hold up as well as many OEM windshileds do.

Same here in NY - full glass coverage. Actually I don't know if it is a NY thing or just the insurance I have. Two years ago I had a crack repaired. The repair didn't hold and I had the windshield replaced. didn't cost me a dime. The replacement windshield appears to be thicker than the OEM windshield too.

Don't complain, since I moved here, I've had 3 cracked windshields. Next week, I will replace the current one, which has a crack about 18 inches long.
I have $100 deductible on comprehensive with Geico, so I pay $100.

You'll still be $50 richer than me.
