I chose the easiest coating to use on the market - Optimum Gloss Coat. New formulation. I topped with Hyper-Seal. Car was prepped with OPT Hyper Polish and Paint Prep.

I've always liked their products but I could never get a good handle on using ONR. Hell I have a 14 yr old bottle in my garage that I use as a lubricant for claybar.

Opti-seal is super easy as it's just wipe and go.

I hear you. ONR and Opti-Clean I struggled with a bit initially. Took some time to get the hang of.

Opti/Hyper-Seal are really easy like you said.

I'm not sold on coatings. I only used Gloss Coat due to ease of use. I'll be happy if I can get one yr out of it. Some of the better spray sealants on the market are so easy to use and last a minimum of 6 months now. Ex - Griot's 3 in 1.

Optimum is one of the few, if only, companies not tripping over themselves by releasing redundant products.

I did notice some self-cleaning this weekend. It rained heavy Friday and I drove down to Cape May Saturday morning. Very little dirt stuck to the truck. Looks very clean for what it went through.

"The new Optimum Gloss Coat was re-formulated for increased ceramic polymers that improve it's scratch/mar resistance, UV protection, and chemical resistance. Increased release properties allow it to shed dirt and other contaminates more easily, staying cleaner and making washing easier."

Are we doing an apples to apples comparison based on advertised claims?

If so, Nu Finish does advertise one year of durability:

The older formulations may have lasted that long, but Scott HD did a test of old and new, a batch after Energizer or whoever purchased Nu Finish and changed the formula. That testing showed that new formula was weaker than previous versions, probably to save costs.
