Never seen a P1, but have seen a few Classics with torn media.

Nothing wrong with using a Fram TG with silicone adbv as a filter choice. As for comparison to P1, imo it's mostly about ones individual preference for a particular type of filter construction.

Tough Guards are excellent filters, using one on the Uplander now with confidence.
